Is Email Marketing Dead?

Is email marketing dead?  Email deliverability is at an all time low, it seems any of "your" audiences are just harder to reach these days.   In this video I share an important business principle why you should not abandon email marketing for some new shiny bullet - HOWEVER I also discuss what is a really cool emerging market that can "support" your email marketing.

I don't believe that the likes of gmail and yahoo will let their whole platform slip. Especially when Facebook Messenger is killing it at the moment.  They will not want people shutting down emails in favour of Messenger.   

But instead of saying "email is dead", as discussed in the video, what we need to do is support our email marketing with other strategies.   It is no different to organic social media which is also down a hole with reach - but instead of never posting again we may need to use a boosting strategy to get some reach.

So here are some reasons why you need to consider using a chatbot / messenger marketing strategy:

  • Marketers are experiencing open rates at least 3 times that of email open rates.  People love the Messenger platform, it is more personal, it is EASY to reply to.
  • There are over 1 billion people on Messenger

This provides an opportunity for you to reach people.  To make it easy for them to engage with you, and most importantly for you to be able to build a relationship with them.

So the big questions are?

Do I have to be a "big business" to use chatbots and facebook messenger marketing?  NO

Do I need to be an expert to get this in place? NO
